Lominack Kolman Smith Architects is a professional architectural firm with over 50 years of experience in the Savannah area. Known for seeking imaginative solutions within a framework of proven and familiar techniques, our office portfolio features strong community-centered work, contemporary designs, green buildings, and award-winning historic preservation projects.
Our office offers comprehensive architectural services for a wide range of building types and projects. Rooted in an understanding of the long-lasting impact of our work, we have made it our mission to create environmentally sensitive and responsive designs, striving to ensure that buildings are harmonious with their surroundings. Our staff are encouraged to be active members of their communities, allowing for the development of project managers with strong community outreach and consensus building skills.
We maintain a relatively small, highly qualified staff and take care to maintain a work load that allows for the active participation of a principal in every project. Further, we diligently seek active client participation, which continually yields strong working relationships in projects from start to finish.
Thank you to everyone that attended last night's #SouthGeorgiaDesignAwards 2020!...
Calling Starland Yard a food truck park is like calling The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist just a church: justice not remotely done....
Our team is committed to a sustainable environment and a greener Savannah. Our office designed Starland Lofts and Ellis Square, two of the few LEED Gold certified projects in Savannah. Starland Lofts, a LEED Core & Shell project, has received numerous awards from several organizations including AIA Georgia, AIA Savannah, The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation, Historic Savannah Foundation, AIA South Atlantic Region, and an Excellence in Design Award from Environmental Design + Construction Magazine.
But we never stop there. Our office is among just a few businesses participating in the City-wide recycling program. Furthermore, energy efficiency and sustainability are goals for all of our projects, whether LEED certification is being sought or not. We always specify efficient systems, carefully select materials, and employ methods to obtain sustainable qualities for the Owner and the environment.
